Dr. Michele King

Co-founder and Director | William & Mary Esports Program

Dr. Michele King joined William & Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1999 and has taught courses on public speaking, interpersonal communication, entertainment-education, and esports. She continues to consult students, faculty, staff, departments, and alumni on presentations for conferences, lectures, speeches, entrepreneurial pitches, and more!
She is co-founder and director of the W&M Esports Program. She serves on the Esports Advisory Board, Faculty Task Force, Steering committee and was the NAECAD (National Association of Esports Coaches & Directors) 2021-2022 National Collegiate Esports Director of the Year recipient. She publishes and presents her research around the world from her TEDx talk to co-authoring the upcoming Routledge Handbook of Esports (Fall 2024). She continues to lend her voice to panels, presentations, and consultations in the esports ecosystem.

Bubba Gaeddert

Videogames and Esports Foundation (VEF) | Executive Director

Bubba is a professional broadcaster, host, consultant, entrepreneur, content creator, and veteran event manager. His main focus is on gaming, esports, education, and technology. He has worked in radio, television, live streaming and is the founder of the Jolumi Media firm (Joe-lou-me), where he consults for multiple esports, gaming, sports, tech, and education companies. He has been a gamer and self-proclaimed NERD ever since he was a kid when his dad managed Radio Shacks in Oklahoma. Bubba has been an adjunct professor in higher-ed since 2013, and worked in the non-profit and traditional sports industry for over 22 years with the YMCA, NCAA, NAIA, Parks and Recs, Sports Commissions, and the Chamber of Commerce. In 2018, he helped create the non-profit 501(c)3 charity the Videogames and Esports Foundation (VEF), and a year later took the reigns as the Executive Director.

Michaela Frank

Texas Esports Federation Director and the Esports Trade Association - Dallas Chapter Co-Chair

Michaela Frank is a former Digital Media Specialist turned Career and Technology Educator. She is currently Director for the Texas Esports Federation and the Co-Chair for the Esports Trade Association - Dallas Chapter.

Josh Whetherholt

Esports Solution Specialist | CDW Education

Josh Whetherholt is an Esports in Education Advisor for CDW•G. A lifelong gamer and avid learner, Josh uses his nerd knowledge for good to advise schools on how to start and expand successful esports programs focused on competition and game-based professional development. Josh is a former Account Manager for CDW•G’s Higher Education segment, and supported all of EDU as part of the Business Development team focusing on ecommerce. Josh was collegiate athlete in track and cross country, and coached K-8 track and field in Arizona. Josh’s background in education, gaming, and competitive sports enable him to understand the complexity and nuance of competitive esports at the K-12 and collegiate levels.
